Lead Cabinet Installer

Timber Barn – Elmira, ON

The Timber Barn is looking for a passionate and talented lead cabinet installer to fill a full-time position.

Located in St. Jacobs (millwork shop in Elmira, Ontario), in the last 5 years our kitchen division has grown to be synonymous with quality and style. We are quickly becoming one of the most sought after custom kitchen companies in and beyond southern Ontario.

Position Overview

As Cabinet Installer you will install custom high-end kitchen cabinetry for clients throughout Waterloo region and southern Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install custom cabinetry in the client’s homes according to the supplied drawings
  • Install crown molding, base trim, etc. where required
  • Install hardware on cabinet doors and drawers
  • Scribe material to uneven surfaces

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of cabinetry install experience
  • Valid G license and clean driving abstract

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings
  • Capable of lifting 50-75 lbs.
  • Skilled in using woodworking tools and techniques
  • Physical ability to do repetitious work (up and down movements, carrying/handling heavy cabinetry components)
  • Courteous and friendly while dealing with clients
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Organized and level-headed
  • High standards of workmanship

Wage commensurate with experience and skill-level.

Cabinetry Drafter/Engineer

Timber Barn – Elmira, ON

Located in St. Jacobs (shop in Elmira, Ontario) our cabinetry department prides itself on innovation, ingenuity and consistency. We are quickly becoming one of the most sought after custom woodworking companies in southern Ontario.

Position Overview

As a Cabinetry Production Drafter, your role is to bridge the gap between the shop and the design staff. Your primary responsibility is to draft production drawings in Cabinet Vision software.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with designers, project managers, installers and shop staff
  • Produce error-free production drawings and build sheets from elemental designs
  • Order material – sheet goods, raw lumber, hardware and accessories
  • Site measure for various cabinetry scopes
  • Proactive in addressing potential problems before they occur
  • Troubleshoot and innovate to maximum efficiency
  • Overtime may be required

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience with Cabinet Vision software and substantial cabinetry building experience

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the cabinetry field
  • Understand the entire scope of a kitchen renovation
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Above average knowledge of the woodworking industry
  • Team player who can be productive independently
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
  • Valid G license, clean driver’s abstract and access to reliable vehicle
  • CNC experience considered an asset
