Welcome to your sneak peek behind the curtain! Today we are showing off a little of our before and after magic for a kitchen renovation we completed.

Timber Barn’s process is uniquely tailored to each of our customer’s needs and focus. We work with you to design spaces that reflect the wonderful potential you see in your home. Connect with one of our designers to find out how we can work together to build your dream home.

1. Site Visit & Measurements

To really get a feel for the space, we need to see it for ourselves, so we arranged to meet the client at their home. We were able to walk through the space, and reaffirm the client’s needs. On this visit they gave us full range to do what was necessary to achieve the look and function in the space that they wanted. Open ended creativity is a designers dream!

Taking their notes, we retreated back to our shop to get started on the planning process.

2. Drawings + Design

Before tackling any build – we virtually arrange the space, creating a digital 3D look of the proposed space before we begin construction. The image on the left is our 3D drawing, while the image juxtaposed on the right is the finished product.

You will notice that the wood chosen for the product features the natural accents of the wood, which we took one step further and included saw markings in the floorboards to establish it’s reclaimed character.

Counters were selected in a Caesarstone London gray which contrasts nicely with the live edge hand-hewn elm island bar top.

3. Installation

As you can see from the before photos, the kitchen already featured a lot of space, but it still felt closed off. We removed portions of the dividing wall, which gave the room the best aspects of open concept living, while still maintaining a partially closed off kitchen.

The fireplace was an exciting project to work on. We stripped that partition of its existing stone, and with a new gas fireplace being installed, added a new, modern brick pattern. You can see here the piece of the dividing wall we removed, creating a more open space.

This is just a quick snapshot of the space. You can see the finished product in our portfolio.
